Summer & Beyond!...!

Apologies to anyone who I haven't been able to tell about this in-person yet, but with just two weeks of the current term of classes left, I now need to get the message out to everyone. There are going to be some big changes to the timetable from 25th July onward. In the first instance there will sadly be no more classes at Taylored-Fit Physio in Langley Park, as they have decided to add more Pilates to their timetable instead. I'm sure you'll all join me in thanking them for the use of such a lovely space and wishing them well in the future.

HOWEVER! I have managed to secure us a booking at another equally lovely space in Langely Park at Organic Pilates And Wellbeing Studio. This beautiful space is behind the shops on front street in the Old Co-Op buildings. It is a light, airy, quiet room, with quiet heating, air con, plenty of head room, and a barre to hold on to for those tricky balancing poses! It does mean a complete re-arranging of my timetable to fit in with the available slots, but I hope you will all find a time to suit you.

Summer Timetable:

I will be running some classes over the School Summer Holidays but on a DIFFERENT TIMETABLE:

Mondays - Wolsingham 10.30-11.45am (block booking only and limited spaces - contact me for info)

Tuesdays - Lanchester 10.30-11.45am (open to all)

Wednesdays - Langley Park 10.30-11.45 (new venue - open to all)

Wednesday - Online 10.30-11.45 (live via zoom (or recorded) at my Langley Park session)

(there are some gaps due to bank holidays and my own family holiday)


Price Changes:

To bring all my classes inline and offer more flexibility and payment options I will be going to the following system:

(Wolsingham Monday will remain block booking only due to the size of the venue)

Hatha Yoga In Person:

Block booking: equivalent to £7 per class

Pay As You Go: £9 per class

Hatha Yoga Online:

Block booking: equivalent to £5 per class

Pay As You Go: £7 per class


September Timetable:

From September I will be going to an all new timetable which is likely to look like this:

Monday Mornings - Wolsingham (block booking only and limited spaces - contact me for info)

Tuesday Afternoons -Langley Park (open to all)

Wednesday Mornings - Langley Park (open to all)

Wednesday Mornings - Online (live via zoom or recorded at my Langley Park session)

Thursday Mornings - Quebec (open to all)

Pregnant? New Mum?

In March I had to cancel my Prenatal and Mother & Baby Yoga Classes. I am now considering with this new venue that I may re-start these classes in September, but as a combined class. I'd be interested in your feedback.

It would be a "Mindful Bumps and Babies" class with both Pregnant women and Postnatal Women with their (non-mobile) babies attending. It would be during the daytime (possibly on a Wednesday late morning) and would be in Langley Park. We would use gentle yoga movements, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to ease aches and pains, and reduce tension, stress, and anxiety. And of course there would also be plenty of time for a chat over a cuppa after class!

I have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel my Prenatal and Mother and Baby Yoga Classes. Unfortunately the numbers have been low for a while and I have struggled to get enough people to run a sustainable class. Thanks for your understanding.

Classes for next half term (Feb/Mar) are now on the booking system (aside from Prenatal and Mother and Baby as I am waiting for confirmation on room/time changes)

Classes are all up and running again after our Christmas break. And you can book via the booking system as usual.

Lanchester class size change

As we've moved into the smaller hall at Lanchester, and I'm conscious of still giving people space to feel comfortable, I've reduced the maximum class size to 14 for that class. So please do make sure to cancel your space if you can't attend do as to allow someone else to take it if needed.

Week-by-week booking now available

Because there are currently spaces at Langley Park on Mondays (1pm) and Tuesdays (11am), I have added a week by week booking option for those classes. Being a smaller room, and a higher quality venue, the cost is a bit more, but I hope it will go some way to helping provide more flexibility and more options for your weekly classes.

Prenatal Yoga

You can also now book the Prenatal Yoga classes week-by-week throughout your pregnancy to allow more flexibility for those who work shifts etc! Spread the word! 😄


Half Term:

I have got myself all confused around the half term dates! And consequently been telling people all sorts! So here is the final version: There will be no half term break this term, as I had already booked you all in when I had the dates wrong! And I have now found childcare for all but one class.

So ALL CLASSES WILL GO AHEAD in half term EXCEPT Mother and Baby (Thurs 28th Oct) which has been cancelled for that one week. If you had booked that class you should have been refunded.

NEXT Half Term:

Classes for next half term (starting week commencing 1st Nov) are now all live on the booking system. For the Wolsingham class you will be sent a priority booking password separately. No other classes need a password.

Price Changes:

Mother and Baby Yoga:

Funding for this class has now ended. Classes are now £6 per class, but this still includes your tea and biscuits after class, and you can still book week-by-week.

Prenatal Yoga:

You can now book this class week-by-week (£9 per session), or do a block booking for a discount (cost equiv. to £8 per session).

Monday 9.45am Wolsingham Hatha:

No changes aside from to say this class will be covered by the lovely Hollie on Monday 4th October as I am hoping to go away for a mini break with my hubby! Hollie is a lovely teacher who works in the Weardale Physiotherapy centre already as a massage therapist among other things, and she promises to be gentle with you all!

Monday 1pm Langely Park Hatha:

No changes aside from to say this class will be covered by the lovely Jacqui Gunnion on Monday 4th October as I am hoping to go away for a mini break with my hubby! Jacqui is a very experienced teacher with training in a gentle but surprisingly effective style of yoga called somatic yoga, as well as our usual Hatha and I'm sure you will love her session. I have combined the Tuesday and Monday class for this one week but there will still be no more than 12 of you all together.

Tuesday 9.30am Langley Park Prenatal:

No changes aside from to say that the class on Tuesday 5th October is cancelled as I am hoping to be away on a mini break with my hubby and unfortunately I've been unable to find cover for this class. No other classes in the block are affected, and you should all have been refunded (takes 5-10 working days to process) for the missed class if you have already paid for it. Thanks for you understanding.

Tuesday 11am Langley Park Hatha:

No changes aside from 5th October when I have combined this class with the Monday 1pm class as per my email to you earlier, and that Monday 1pm class will be covered by the lovely Jacqui Gunnion as described above. None of the other classes in the block are affected.

Wednesday 9.30am Lanchester Hatha:

FIRSTLY: apologies to those who attended on wednesday this week and were disturbed by the noise from other groups in the centre. The sound really travels in the community centre and it was inevitable that at some point someone would book the adjoining hall. I've made the decision to move the class back to the Croft View Hall EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. The address is Croft View Halls, Croft View, Lanchester, Durham, DH7 0HY.

There is no on site parking at this hall so please park with consideration of local residents in the street nearby. The hall is accessed by walking up a short path from the roadside between the end of the terrace and the house with the double garage on the corner of front street and Kitswell Rd. We are in the bottom hall (down the steps ahead of you and to your right as you enter the hall). The time is still 9.30-10.45, and all current bookings still stand. Thanks for your understanding.

SECONDLY: on Wednesday 6th October the class will be covered by the lovely Hollie-ann Coleman as I will hopefully be away enjoying a mini break with my hubby. Hollie is a fabulous teacher with a wide range of skills and experience and she has promised to be gentle with you all! I think you will all really enjoy her session.

Thursday 10am Castleside Mother and Baby Yoga:

No Changes to this class aside from one cancellation. There will be no class on Thursday 7th October as I am hoping to be away enjoying a mini break with my hubby! Anyone who had booked that session should have had a refund (takes 5-10 working days to appear). No other classes are affected. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.


September Classes Now Open for Booking

All of the September/October term of classes are now available on the booking system, so get yourself booked in now to avoid disappointment!


Yoga Summer School

As I will be at home with my boys over the school summer holidays I have decided to run and online (prerecorded sessions) summer school for Hatha Yoga. It will include all the lovely stuff you're used to at classes, but you can do the sessions in your own time, in the comfort of you own home. There will be 7 x weekly Hatha Yoga Sessions (45 mins each, prerecorded), PLUS 2 x Deep relaxation recordings, PLUS 2 x Pranayama (breathing) recordings! You'll also get lots of encouragement and motivation from me, via the weekly emails, a WhatsApp Group and/or a Facebook group (should you choose to join).

The next stage of lockdown easing has been confirmed, and I am really looking forward to getting back to in-person classes! All classes currently have just a few spaces left, so book now to avoid disappointment! Booking is now open to all, no priority booking passwords required.

17th May - Hatha and Prenatal Classes to re-start!

Priority Booking is now open for in-person Hatha Yoga Classes and you should have received and email with information on that if you were booked on to our last classes in Oct/Nov last year. From 7th May all remaining spaces will be opened up for others to book as well!

And Prenatal Yoga is open for booking with no restrictions or priority booking!

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all there!


Mother and Baby Yoga Re-Starting 14th April!

I am very excited to announce that, in line with the government's road-map out of lockdown, my Mother and Baby Yoga classes are re-starting in-person after the Easter break!

Easter Break and Beyond

Zoom Hatha Yoga from 12/4/2021:

I am currently running Hatha Yoga online (Zoom) classes only. Prenatal and Mum and Baby Yoga classes aren't running currently. The Hatha classes are as follows:

Mondays 9.45-11.00am

Mondays 1pm - 2.15pm

Wednesdays 9.30-10.45am

Either join us Live on Zoom, or you can book a "Recording Only" ticket and do the class at your own convenience.

Class Schedule Changes:

Unfortunately due to school closures I am having to reduce my class schedule. If you were booked onto an affected class you should have received an email. Details below:

For the next two weeks (possibly longer - to be reviewed 16th Jan) I will NOT be running the following classes:

  • Tuesday 9.30 Prenatal Yoga

  • Tuesday 11am Hatha Yoga

  • Wednesday 11am Mum and Baby Yoga

If you are booked onto these classes you may either transfer to one of the classes I am running (below) or you can cancel and get a refund. Please contact me to let me know your preference asap.

I WILL be running the following classes:

  • Monday 9.45 Hatha Yoga

  • Monday 1pm Hatha Yoga

  • Wednesday 9.30am Hatha Yoga

If you can't make these times live, book yourself on anyway, and you will receive a recording on the Hatha session for that week.

If you are pregnant you are very welcome to attend these Hatha Classes, and I will be sure to offer alternative postures where needed.

If you are interested in Mum and Baby Yoga, please get in touch as I am able to offer recordings of last term's classes at a reduced fee.

Online Booking is Now Open!

All Hatha Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Mum and Baby Yoga classes for January will be online via Zoom.

All classes are now pay as you go, so you will need to book each individual class that you wish to attend, including those you would only like a recording of, even if you normally pay in a block.

You can book to attend live, or simply to get the recording, both options are on the booking system.

Links to all the zoom meetings will be in your confirmation email which you receive directly after booking. Retain this email because it includes ALL of the classes you've booked.

Anyone who isn't able to book online for whatever reason, please contact me, even if you have previously, as I struggle to remember from last time!

I know that zoom isnt everyone's cup of tea, but personally I've been really pleasantly surprised by how personal and connected it still feels teaching classes this way, and I would really encourage you to try it and see.

I am planning a lovely set of sessions enjoying the use of sankalpas (intentions) for our practice, to really help you find, and feel, the benefit of yoga for you, personally. It's a hard time for so many of us right now, and I only hope that by joining us and taking a little bit of time for yourself to get on your mat, you might be able to enjoy some (literal and figurative!) breathing space.
